Mark 4:38 | Just as the disciples did, we must also bring our honest reactions to Jesus. We will not understand what He is doing in our lives anymore than they did in theirs! See 1 Corinthians 2:6-16.
Mark 4:39 | When God created the universe, He did so by speaking. His Word accomplishes the purpose for which He sends it! His ANSWER to our questions will always be by way of His Word! See Isaiah 55:6-12
Mark 4:40 | Honesty goes both ways. Jesus shows that when we doubt Him we will be completely blind. This is why the Lord commands us to confess our sins, our brokenness, to Him often. Hebrews 11:1 says: "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." This means that Faith is life on God's Terms. Not our own. So, do not fall into the lie that faith is an inert "quantity" item like sand in a bucket or water in a jar. Instead, always look at faith like a living thing—such as a tree—which grows when nourished but weakens when neglected:
Blessed is the person who does not follow the advice of wicked people, walk the path of sinners, or join the group of mockers. Rather, he delights in the teachings of Yahweh and reflects on His teachings day and night. This person is like a tree planted beside streams—a tree that produces fruit in season and whose leaves do not wither. He succeeds in everything he does. —Psalm 1:1-3 (MLV)
Mark 4:41 | In this moment the disciples catch their first glimpse of exactly WHO Jesus is. He. Is. God. Yawheh Adonai, which means THE SOVEREIGN MAJESTIC LORD OF THE UNIVERSE! This moment utterly demolished their categories, even though God was preparing them for this time all along (See Isaiah 6:1-8). Jesus is TRUE GOD and also TRUE MAN. Mark 1:1 says Jesus is the Son of God and Jesus repeatedly calls Himself the Son of Man. See Daniel 7:13-14.
This is WHO Jesus is. And we SEE Him most clearly: In The Storm.
See 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 and Philippians 3:1-11 and 2 Timothy 3:1-16.
