The Lord of Forgiveness

Mark 2:2 | First. Before healings or miraculous feedings, Jesus preached the Word. With God, actions are always the fulfillment of His Word. See Genesis 1:3, John 1:1, Romans 1:16, 1 Corinthians 2:2!

Mark 2:5 | Jesus SAW their faith! At first glance, we might merely conclude that He was moved by their actions. But as we will see if we look deeper, He knows the thoughts of the heart! See Isaiah 6:1-10! His response: to forgive their sins! Right then and there! When we believe in Jesus, we are forgiven, restored and renewed! Right then and there! See John 5:24-27!

Mark 2:6-7 | Now that Jesus has come and established the Kingdom of God, He has given us the forgiveness of sins! And we take what we've been given and share it! The world will never be the same. When we tell someone they are forgiven, they are forgiven! See Luke 10:16 and John 20:21-23 and Matthew 18!

Mark 2:8 | Sometimes we are tempted to believe that the devil can know our thoughts or what is on our hearts. This is a power that only God has! See Jeremiah 11:20, 17:10, 20:12, Psalm 7:10 and 26:2. Indeed, the sin which lives in us, betrays our spirit, body and soul; but this is why we invite the Holy Spirit to forgive us, renew us and strengthen us! See Romans 7:7-8:25!

Mark 2:9,17 | Our eyes will be continuously attracted to the miracles. We will seem to always look for God to respond to our good behavior. But this is not why Jesus came. He came to save us, to provide us with forever healing, to freely give the greatest of all miracles, to restore that which is broken and make right all things! Believe that HE LOVES YOU. Believe that HE CAME FOR YOU.
Because He did! Believe this and you will see. See Galatians 5!
