Let The Land Produce

Important Note: Sometimes when Christians study Genesis, an unfortunate stereotype can emerge where folks are tempted to pit faith vs. science. Sometimes we might feel we have to “check our brains at the door”. Not here at Praise & Worship! The Story of Scripture INVITES questions and so do we! We are not here to pit faith vs. science! Science is a gift from God ! Check out the story of Francis Bacon! Sometimes our culture, however, takes some findings of science and then proceeds to craft a narrative around them and pits that narrative against the story of Jesus. One is a story of death. One is a story of life. While Scripture is not a science book, it is a library of writings which reveal the Creator and show us Who He is: A loving Father who sent His Son to save us and His Spirit to restore our broken hearts! And: He is making all things NEW.

The Waters

Genesis 1:6 | We are taught by our culture that the earth was a series of random gatherings of dust (which eventually created our star, the sun) and later more dust which formed into rocks which formed into more rocks that eventually became our planet. Instead, this is the only place in the known universe with liquid water. A place of life. A gift from God.

Genesis 1:14 | A sign is something that points to something. It communicates information. The sun, the moon, and the stars all point to things. They all tell us something. They remind of us God’s promises, and of His provisions!

To Separate

Genesis 1:17-18 | God gave us the lights to GOVERN the day and the night, and to separate the light from darkness. This was His GOOD design.

Kindness & Love

Titus 3:4-5 | God is KIND. He is LOVE. We SEE this in the LIGHT of JESUS. When He appeared HE saved us. NOT because of anything we did, but because of His MERCY. For you. When you look at the sun and feel it’s warmth on your face, remember this. When you gaze at a full moon think of His love to rescue us when we are in the darkness. When you ponder the majesty of the cosmos, know that He was thinking of you as He named every star!
