It is time again to get ready for the election of certain members of the Leadership Team. There are eight elected members on the team, their terms run for two years from February 1 to January 31. All voting members of the church may be nominated for any position. Members of the team may serve two consecutive terms in the same position. The team members are elected at the January Family Meeting which will be on January 30, 2022. To allow for continuity in the team from year to year, members’ terms end on alternate years.
This cycle, we have four positions that will be elected; President, Secretary, one Member at Large, and Assistant Treasurer. Our President, Gary Dorland, is ending his first term and has indicated that he will be a candidate for a second term. Ed Wilson is ending his first term and he has indicated that he will be a candidate for the position of Member at Large. Our secretary, Diana Prasifka, has indicated that she will not be a candidate for a second term. Our Assistant Treasurer, Nancy Kolb has asked to be released from her position after one year so the Assistant Treasurer elected in January will be serving a one-year term.
Now is the time for you to consider if you would like to be a candidate for any of these positions or if you would like to nominate someone for one of these positions. The nomination period begins now and runs until the agenda for the Family Meeting is published, which should be early in January at which time nominations will close.
