What Does God’s Word Do?
Hebrews 4:12 || Remember: God’s Word comes to us (1) spoken, (2) written and also in “everyday mysteries” (such as Baptism and the Lord’s Supper). His Word is LIVING and ACTIVE, and it “does stuff” (i.e., “penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit”) including convicting us (think “LAW” which is a command to “do this”) and giving us faith (think “GOSPEL” which is a promise that “He DID that!”).

How Do We Use God’s Word?
Romans 8:3, Romans 1:16, Isaiah 55:11 || We “unleash” God’s Word, remembering that the LAW is “powerless” and that the GOSPEL is “the power of God”! The Law shows us our need for Jesus and what it means to love! The Gospel gives us the power to trust in what He has done and therefore be FREE join Him in His mission to spread that love and hope to everyone!
