Romans 10:3-5 | People try to climb UP some kind of ladder, stairs, mountain, or other devised system of “doing more, trying harder, getting better,” on their own. The truth is Jesus comes DOWN to save us!
Romans 10:6-8 | Where is the Word? Only in a book? Just as we see in Deuteronomy 30, it is NEAR, in your mouth, in your heart! What is Spoken, Lived and Written by God needs to be Spoken and Lived by us! And in our speaking and living, we will say it, explain it, experience it, and embody it! See Matthew 5:13-18 & Hebrews 4:12!
Romans 10:9 | “Confess” is the Greek Word “homologeo” meaning “to say the same things”. So we respond to what has been proclaimed: Jesus is the Risen Lord, which means He is Yahweh, the Sovereign Majestic Lord of the Universe! Yahweh is the divine name of God which He revealed to Moses in Exodus 3:13-15. See also Isaiah 45:22-25 and Philippians 2:5-11!
Romans 10:10 | All the verbs suddenly switch from active voice to passive voice! Believing in the heart results in being declared righteous! Confessing with the mouth results in being saved!
Romans 10:14-15 | God’s word is ALIVE! It is communicated in every form by His Spirit in us and through us! We take what is written, and we speak it, we live it, we are washed in it, we eat it and drink it, and His Word ALWAYS accomplishes that for which it was SENT. Your feet are beautiful when you participate in His Mission to spread love and hope to all people! See Isaiah 52:6-53:12 & 55:8-11!
Romans 10:17 | We rely on the Bible because it is God’s Word, preserved for us; living, powerful and most certainly true!
