HERE'S HOW:
Grab a Bible. If it fits your style, also grab a journal to write in.
Which Bible version is best? The one you read! If you don’t have one, let us know! Print, Online, and Apps are available.
Invite family or friends to join you.
Pray! Ask the Holy Spirit to help you as you read. HE WILL.
Check to see if there is a video to watch today
Look up and read the assigned reading for the day.
Look up the assigned Psalm that day: pray it out loud.
Pray! Ask the Father to apply those readings to your life and to help you join Jesus where He is already working. HE WILL.
Participate in Worship on Sunday!
July 22
Read Ezekiel 28-30, then Pray Psalm 41. These chapters demonstrate that no nation is exempt from God’s attention (see Acts 15:19-21).
July 23
Read Ezekiel 31-33, then Pray Psalm 42. God continues to communicate with powerful imagery of how things truly are.
July 24
Read Ezekiel 34-36, then Pray Psalm 43. Chapter 34 causes pastors to stay awake at night! While we put our trust in The Good Shepherd (see John 10) it is clear that the Lord’s expectations for His under-shepherds are high. Don’t miss Chapter 36!!! Especially verses 25 to 30.
July 25
Skim Ezekiel 37-39, then Pray Psalm 44. Ezekiel 37 are words to study (all parts, not just the valley). Spend extra time here. Compare verses 24-28 to John 10:11-16.
July 26
Skim Ezekiel 40-46, then Pray Psalm 45. After skimming these chapters (feel especially free to skim some of the details about measurements, etc.) taking special note to remember the purpose of these chapters is explained in 43:10-11. Next go and read Revelation 21 (see also Colossians 2:17 and Hebrews 8:5-6).
July 27
Read Ezekiel 47-48, then Pray Psalm 46. Slow down and zoom in on Ezekiel 47. Compare with Revelation 22. Focus less on the details and more on the themes of what the water from the river actually does. Then (while focusing on what the water actually does) compare with John 4 and John 7:37-38.
CHAPTER 11 – THE RETURN FROM EXILE
July 28
Read Ezra 1-3, then Pray Psalm 47. The RETURN! Israel is headed home. But alas…it isn’t exactly “home sweet home”. Think about that: the people come back to what they’d dreamt of for a generation, only to find out that their expectations didn’t line up with God’s plan. Has this ever happened to you?
